Yoga styles at Balance

We base our teachings and each of our classes on the principles of breath (pranayama), movement (asana) and awareness (meditation). These principles are the foundation of our classes, in which we welcome beginners through to the most experienced yogis. At BALANCE we offer traditional Hatha Yoga (Sivananda style), energetic Vinyasa classes and dynamic Ashtanga.

Hatha

is a traditional yoga system that includes asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and savasana (relaxation). The practice helps to bring peace to the mind and the body, fostering meditation. At BALANCE we focus on a Sivananda style practice, which includes 12 asanas and multiple variations.

Hatha classes are perfect for practitioners of all levels.

Vinyasa

is a yoga system that synchronizes the asanas (yoga postures) with pranayama (breathing exercises). The practice, that involves flowing from one yoga posture to another, is energizing and movement intensive. Unlike in Ashtanga, in Vinyasa there is very little routine, so the classes are never boring.

Vinyasa classes are perfect for all levels and abilities but are not recommended for complete beginners.

Ashtanga

is a yoga system that synchronizes the asanas (yoga postures) with pranayama (breathing exercises). The practice, that involves flowing from one yoga posture to another, is very rigorous and follows a specific sequence of postures. At BALANCE, our Ashtanga classes are faster paced than most Vinyasa flows.

Ashtanga classes are recommended for intermediate to advanced practitioners only.

At BALANCE, classes are offered multiple times a day, so check the schedule and choose what best suits your ability, intention and schedule.

Office yoga

 

are 60 minutes classes designed specifically for the needs of people who work in the office. The course focuses on releasing stress, correcting poor posture and soothing neck and back pain.

At BALANCE, you can join an office yoga class any working day from 12pm.

is the most thorough introduction for a beginner to yoga, or for anyone looking to renew their practice. This course includes in-depth explanations and practice of asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), savasana (relaxation), meditation and elements of yogic philosophy.

At BALANCE, the workshop is taught in small groups (max. 6 people), who meet weekly (for 4 consecutive weeks) or over the weekend (for 2 consecutive weeks).

Prenatal & postnatal

 

is specifically designed for the needs of future and new mothers. Prenatal and postnatal yoga offers a supportive way for you to connect with your body and baby by providing a gentle and effective exercise.

At BALANCE, the classes are specialized for each trimester and taught in small groups (max. 6 people) on a weekly basis.
